Fall Fun and Halloween Activities Around Alberta 2014

pumpkins-1089296-mThere are lots of fun Fall / Halloween activities going on around Alberta this month. Here are just a few family safe events where you can enjoy the last snow free days of the season.

Edmonton and Area Halloween Activities

The Edmonton Corn Maze

You can try your hand at the Edmonton Corn Maze until October 20th. The maze is located just West of the Edmonton in Parkland county. Click here for Directions.

Howl-O’-Wiener Roast at the Edmonton Valley Zoo

On Saturday October 16 from 2 - 6 PM treat yourself to a hotdog and hot chocolate as you see the spooky side of the valley zoo. Regular zoo rates apply.

Fort Edmonton Park’s Spooktacular

October 24, 25 from 6 -  11 PM for families. (October 31 Adults Only) Don your costume and venture down to Fort Edmonton Park for a night of fun and fright for all ages. There’s mystery lurking around every corner as you make your way through the Park. Don’t forget your Halloween bag to collect some tasty treats!

The Muttart Conservatory presents… Pumpkins & Pirates!

On October 24th from 1 - 4 PM come celebrate Halloween with an afternoon under the pyramids filled with fanciful songs, exciting tales of adventure and contests to test your mettle. Regular admission applies.

Farm of Fear

The farm of fear is dubbed as one of Edmonton's scariest events, with actors, props and spooky prizes it is note recommended for children under 12 years of age. It runs nightly from October 22 until November 1 and is on the same grounds as the Edmonton Corn Maze.

Lloydminster and Area Halloween Activities

Harvest Feastival

Come down to the Lloydminster Exhibition Grounds on October 21 from 4 - 8 PM to experience this year's Harvest Feastival. Sample various preparation methods of local food the multiple food stations! There is a variety of local meats, vegetables, fruits, and more! Open to ages 12 & up, click here for more information.

40th Annual "Terror in the Field" Vermillion Corn Maze 

On Friday and Saturday nights in October from dusk to 11 PM, come experience "Terror in the Field" at Novotny's Farm Market, 1809 State Route 60, Vermilion.  Admission $10 Adults - Children under 48 inches $5 - Group rates available.

Lethbridge and Area Halloween Activities

Lethbridge Corn Maze

From now until October 25th come enjoy the Lethbridge Corn Maze. The fun for all ages includes a petting zoo, cow train, hay rides, pumpkins in the fall and more. 9 acres of corn way above your "ears". There is a kids maze, a Trivia maze and a Big maze. Navigating through the 3 different mazes will take from 20 minutes to 2 hours. Click here for directions.

Calgary and Area Halloween Activities

Calgary Corn Maze

From now until October 19th you can try your hand at navigating the Calgary Corn Maze. The maze itself has been affected by the early snowfall, but they still have a large array of farm filled adventures for families and groups of all ages. Click here for hours and directions.

Thanksgiving Weekend at Heritage Park

On October 11-13th from 9:30am - 5PM come celebrate the weekend with a Thanksgiving meal at the Wainwright Hotel and enjoy pumpkin baking demonstrations among other themed activities.

Pumpkin and Scarecrow Festival

Every Saturday in October you can come out to Kayben Farms in Okotoks for crafts, wagon rides, pumpkin painting, the corn maze, and much more.
