We at Armour Insurance know how valuable a day off can be, which is why we created the day off raffle! Every year, Armour Insurance sells day off raffle tickets to our staff for $2 each, and offers a total of 12 days off throughout the year. The Armour Team draws someone's ticket each month, and that person gets a day off.
At the end of the year, Armour likes to support its communities by choosing a local cause and donating the raffle's proceeds. This year, Armour has decided to donate the money to WIN House. WIN House provides safe shelter for women and their kids fleeing domestic violence. The organization exists to further non-violent relationships and environments for women with or without children. WIN House Champions receive access to programs and services to help them on the next part of their journey.
Women and children are safe and free from abuse in their environments & relationships.
For over 5 decades, WIN House has given women and children of all ages and cultures a safe place to flee. From passionate professionals and volunteers, to dedicated donors and champions of the cause, WIN House is committed to providing safety, support, relief, and resources for abuse victims in Edmonton and the surrounding area.
WIN House has 70 beds (almost always full) in 3 shelters (2 short term stay, 1 long-term stay), a 24 hour crisis line for anyone to call in need of help, outreach staff, a nurse, meals, warm beds, essentials like toiletries, undergarments and comfortable items like pajamas, slippers and many programs to help the Champions on their journeys to new beginnings. They do household packages for Champions when they leave, full of every item needed for a fresh start – towels, bedding, shower curtains, pots, pans, can openers, items we all take for granted that they do not have as they’re starting from scratch.
