Training

This role is for new insurance brokers, if you’re an experienced insurance broker, a better fit might be our sales or service broker positions. Once in the role, you’ll work under our in-house training coordinator to learn the industry standards, policies, procedures, and skills required to be an effective insurance broker. This paid training gets you hands-on experience working with real live clients in the industry.

Armour has excellent opportunities for growth beyond this entry-level position into more specific sales, service, and commercial insurance roles.

What Will You Do?

Once you have completed your training as an Entry-Level Insurance Broker, you will:

  • Provide professional insurance advice to clients with clear and timely communication on insurance policies and coverages
  • Perform risk discovery analysis on new clients for optimal coverage options
  • Respond to inbound insurance leads in person, over the phone, and via email
  • Provide timely, accurate, and easily understood insurance quotes to prospects
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients while working collaboratively within a team of brokers
  • Utilize Applied Systems (Epic) software for managing client information and insurance processes

Requirements

To be eligible for this role, you will need to have an Alberta level 1 general insurance license prior to your start date.
*Licensing exams take place in Edmonton every Friday with 3 different time slots at Manulife Place 10180 101 St NW, Suite 2700.

Beneficial Skills

Your success in this role will be enhanced if you have:

  • Experience in customer service and/or sales is an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Applied Systems (Epic) is an asset
