In a mass evacuation situation like the one our Fort McMurray neighbours experienced this week, grabbing your birth certificate or other identification isn't the first thing on your mind. We know that things like speaking with your insurance company and getting shelter for your family can be made a lot easier when you have proper identification. So, when Service Alberta announced plans to waive Government fees on certain services today, Armour Registry and other Alberta registries agreed to match their offer and provide these services for free.
Who's Eligible
Any resident of Fort McMurray and surrounding communities that have been evacuated due to the Horse River Fire will be eligable to receive these services. Just stop by Armour Registries and explain your situation, we'll be happy to help.
What Services are Free
The following services will be made available at no charge:
- Duplicate/Replacement Driver's Licenses and ID Cards
- Duplicate/Replacement Certificates of Registration
- Birth Certificates
- Replacement Alberta Health Care Cards.
Come by our registry office and we'd be happy to assist.
Mail to Fort McMurray Has Been Suspended
All registry mail to the affected areas has been suspended. Since documents that normally come in the mail, such as a drivers license, cannot be mailed to you until furhter notice. Service Alberta has implemented a program to expedite delivery of these documents to your registry. We can hopefuly receive these for you within 3 business days of your request.

If you'd like to take advantage of this offer come by the Armour Registry office at 5738-75 St. Monday to Friday: 9 - 6pm and Saturdays 10 - 3pm. From Northlands, Head South on Wayne Gretzky Drive for about 10 minutes and we'll be on the right near Barbecue Country.
