Caution some Holiday gifts need to be specifically added on to your Home Insurance Policy!

Jan 2, 2012 10:22:00 AM

During the holidays Homeowners Insurance is usually not top of mind. However some of our holiday gifts may not be automatically covered under your home insurance. We wanted to write today as a friendly reminder that you may need to call your insurance broker and have them add these items to your policy. This is refered to as scheduling them to your policy. When items are scheduled or listed individually on the policy the coverage is usually all-risk with no deductible or depreciation.

Some of the personal items that may not be covered or will have a set dollar limit can include; Jewellery, Musical Insurments, Coins, Wine, Art and more. Insurance for these items is available you just need to contact your Armour Insurance office and we will get you covered! We will requre an appraisal, in order to schedule an item on your policy the store in which sold you this item can provide you with the appraisal at no additonal charge.

Should you require higher limits on many of the limited items such as art, wine, bicycles and jewellery we have Home Insurance Policies that are made for clients that require higher limits for expensive goods. They still may have limitations but they are much higher.

If Santa was good to you or someone you care about make sure they discuss their big gift with their Armour Insurance representitive. If you are interested in reveiwing your current home insurance policy, get an online quote today!

Happy New Year!
