Mar 26, 2021 9:39:29 AM

As we move further into 2021, most Canadians are still having to make significant sacrifices due to the COVID-19 pandemic, especially front-line workers. That's why Intact has recently announced their plan to provide additional support to their customers. Read on to see if you qualify.

From March 18 to May 31, 2021, Intact Insurance personal auto customers can request relief equivalent to one month of their auto premium by answering one simple eligibility question on their Intact Client Centre account, Intact app, or by contacting their broker. If you’re a personal auto insurance customer with Intact whose driving habits have changed, including commuting for essential reasons, you can submit a request for the relief.

If you don't have a Client Centre account yet, you can sign up here.

Introducing these customer relief measures is designed to minimize the workload for brokers, while offering a quick and secure relief option for customers. The relief is being carried out with the hope that it can be directed to those who need it most. Eligible customers who apply for relief through their Client Centre account or the Intact app will receive their funds via an Interac e-Transfer within 14 days. Customers who ask for assistance via a broker will receive a cheque within 60 days.

How do you know when you've been approved once you apply? After you've submitted an application, you'll receive a confirmation email. Following that email, you'll receive another email with a security question for your payment. After that, you will then receive an Interac e-Transfer email with instructions to deposit the payment into your bank account. Follow the instructions to log into your account and enter the security answer. If you have an automated deposit set up with your bank, no action is required. You may receive non-eligible status for cases when your driving habits have not changed or your vehicle is currently in storage.

This support is an addition to $530 million Intact previously announced that has benefited over 1.2 million clients across the country. $50 million of the relief has been directed to over 100,000 small businesses through Intact's Small Business Relief Program.
