Basement Flood Prevention Checklist
By Rob Stevenson on Apr 20, 2020 4:16:07 PM
Last Saturday afternoon I was startled by a strange alarm coming from my Alarm system. We ran to the panel and saw that it was the flood sensor on my sump pump. I rushed downstairs and over wet carpet to the sump pump and when I lifted the cover I saw that it was overflowing with cold, murky run-off water. Hopefully not many others will have to deal with a similar situation, but just in case, here's a checklist that would have helped me prevent this problem!

Dash Cams - Do They Help Me Save On Insurance?
By Rob Stevenson on Feb 27, 2020 11:45:00 AM
The first piece of dash cam footage I saw was taken from a police cruiser in the Southern US. The officer had pulled over a woman for speeding and she wasn't very please with him. Since then, I've seen plenty of Russian dash cam videos where pedestrians throw themselves onto parked cars in hopes of securing a settlement from the driver. It's clear that these cameras would help solve a dispute over who is at fault, but do they do anything to lower your insurance rates.
